Family and Children“What an exciting and enlivening experience it is to work with Lisa Schlingerman Founder and Director of ARTSelf and Art Together. After an initial inquiry, Lisa helped Family and Children’s Service design and shape a creative staff development retreat that was fun, engaging and rejuvenating for our Family Life Education Staff. An added bonus: we were able to hold the retreat at Lisa’s ARTSelf Studio located in a beautiful woodsy setting on the St Croix River.

Lisa tailored the 1/2 day retreat to specific needs of Family Life Education Staff from Family and Children’s Service. She used Experiential Art Activities and movement to help us identify our individual and collective values, strengths and experiences and to better understand the ways they influence our current work with diverse families and organizations within the community. Under Lisa’s direction Family Life Education Staff were immersed in an arts-based experience that included beauty, nature and creativity. As a result team members let down their guards, built a different kind of connectedness with each other and were able to establish a more cohesive sense of unity and common purpose for their work in the coming year.”

Retreat at Villa Maria in Frontenac,MN“Dear Lisa,

Thank you for the many ways you nurture body, soul and spirit. Your gentle and compassionate ways are so life-giving and encouraging. I truly feel blessed by meeting you and being able to tap the gifts of your hearts’ work as a blessing to each of the women on this retreat. I loved the way you led the Tai Chi and the mandalas. Your presence is very powerful in your peace and the gentle touch of your soul.

Thanks for being you! Be sure to send me some pictures for our newsletter and my heart’s memory.

Peace and Namaste.”

I have had the tremendous honor and privledge of working with Lisa for seventeen years.   Lisa has re-awakened and helped to heal the inner visual artist within me through her own amazing art and through her unique classes.

We have co-facilitated workshops in Moving art that blended embodied movement and art experiences.  I deeply value our work collaborations that demonstrated creative compatibility.  Lisa is a much appreciated guest teacher for Green River Dance for Global Somatics.  She inspires students to give artistic expression to their explorations of the fluids, organs and glands.

As a woman, Lisa manifests humility and passion - one who through devotion to truth expresses and serves the magical mystery of life’s dynamic web.
